Prepping for + Attending your Advising Meeting

01
Activate Your UW-Eau Claire Account And Check Your Email

If you have not activated your UW-Eau Claire account or need to reset your password, visit myusername.mpeaffiliate.com. You will need your username and Campus ID, which can be found in your admit letter or application acknowledgment email.

Check your UW-Eau Claire email account for information about scheduling an appointment with your advisor.

02
Schedule An Appointment With Your Academic Advisor

All transfer students are required to complete a transfer advising and registration appointment before enrolling in classes. You’ll have the opportunity to meet your advisor, learn how your credits transfer to UW-Eau Claire and discuss other campus resources.

Once you've been admitted and processed into our system, it can take 3-5 business days for your advisor to be assigned and notified. Advisors will reach out to you first to connect, and then you can work together to schedule an appointment to discuss course. Then:

If you are having a video call or phone appointment:

  • Please have access to a computer with Internet access, and have all the materials that you were sent from your advisor available for the meeting.
  • UW-Eau Claire is located in the central time zone.

If you are having an in-person appointment:

  • Please contact the Flesch Family Welcome Center two days in advance to request a free visitor parking permit: 715-836-2544. The Welcome Center is located at 127 Roosevelt Ave.
  • If you are interested in a campus tour, please contact Admissions at 715-836-5415 or visit their website.

Please plan on 60 minutes for the appointment.

03
Check With Your Advisor On Whether You Need To Take Placement Exams

Transfer students should be notified by their Advising, Retention, and Career Center (ARCC) advisor if placement tests are needed, but it's always helpful to reach out if you're uncertain. Should it be determined that you need to complete Placement tests, more detailed information on the transfer student testing process can be found here.

Review Helpful Materials On How To Use Advising Platforms And Remove Academic Holds

You'll want to login to CampS to familiarize yourself with the platform, and take care of any academic holds before your advising appointment (view instructions via links/videos provided below). CampS is the platform you will use to sign up for classes, update your contact information, view your grades, and much more! Feel free to jump back to these videos for future semesters; note - some videos do not have sound.

Understanding your Degree:

Preparing for your Advising and Registration appointment:

Removing Holds from your Account in order to Register for Classes:

Below are also some additional tips to using CampS:

  • It is easier to view and navigate CampS using a laptop or computer than it is using a mobile device.
  • Once you're in CampS, you'll find that there are many ways to complete tasks. We find it is usually easiest to complete all of your tasks by starting in the "Tasks" tile, which can be found under the 'Main Menu.'

Helpful tip: More information on your advising support and major options can be found on our website: http://x29.mpeaffiliate.com/academics/academic-support/arcc/advising/. We recommend reviewing this information before your first appointment so you can be prepared with your questions to ask!

Review Other Helpful Resources As Needed

[1] Apply for on-campus housing
If you plan to live on campus, please start by submitting your housing application, found on the housing website.

[2] Apply for financial aid
If you plan to receive financial aid and have not completed your FAFSA, you will need to apply as soon as possible. Please visit the Financial Aid website for additional information.

[3] Submit your AP (Advanced Placement) score reports
If you have received credit from an AP exam, this credit does not automatically transfer. You must have the score report sent to UW-Eau Claire (from ETS) or bring your copy of the official score report to the Academic Testing Office, 2100 Vicki Lord Larson Hall. Since this will affect your registration appointment time, you should do this as soon as possible.

[4] View required textbooks
UW-Eau Claire has a great textbook rental program! After you've registered, you can access your textbook list in CampS. From your Student Center, click "Manage Classes", then "My Classes/Schedule" and then "Books/Materials by Author" for the full list. The Bookstore is located in Davies Center, on lower campus.

[5] Parking on campus
There are several parking options available to students. Please visit the Parking website for more information.

[6] Access the catalog
View the University Catalog to explore course and degree information.

[7] Need a job?
Whether you're looking for a job on or off campus, Handshake is available for job searching and finding internships.

[8] Get involved with student organizations
Getting involved with student orgs is a great way to make connections, engage with faculty and professional staff, participate in events across campus, and establish relationships with alumni. Don't forget to download the BlugoldConnect+ app - our one stop shop for involvement on campus!

[9] Seek out information about meal plans and dining on campus
Click here to learn more about meal plan options, places to dine on campus, our Kiwibot delivery program, and more.

05
Complete Your EDI Trainings Before Registration For Your Second Semester

To create a safe and inclusive campus experience, all new students must complete 3 trainings: Alcohol.edu, Sexual Assault & Sexual Harassment Prevention, and Diversity & Inclusion.

You can expect an email from edi@mpeaffiliate.com ahead of your first semester, and can reach out to that same email with any questions. Failing to complete these trainings may prohibit you from registering for your second semester, so be sure to get them done early on in your first semester.

Apps for Blugolds

UW-Eau Claire offers free apps to all Blugolds, each offering unique benefits and helpful ways for you to stay connected.

Navigate Student

Navigate Student is a personalized app all Blugolds are strongly encouraged to download. Designed to help you adjust and excel during your first year at 澳门葡京网赌送彩金, Navigate includes important reminders, to-do's, schedules and upcoming deadlines specific to you. It is also the primary way to schedule appointments with faculty and staff. It is recommended you download the app as soon as possible, as important messages are communicated through the app throughout the year.

Handshake

Handshake connects you with thousands of employers — and work opportunities — across the globe and right here in Eau Claire. Used heavily by our Career Center and employer partners, Handshake allows you to explore work-study opportunities and part-time jobs, discover internships, apply for jobs, and read company reviews — all in one spot.

Blugold Connect+

Blugold Connect+ was created to provide more of a “one-stop shop” for making connections on campus. The highly intuitive, multipurpose student experience app/platform will maximize ways for students to get connected prior to arriving on campus, throughout their college journey and beyond. Read more about this app's features here. This will be the primary way you hear about student organizations, and major events that happen on campus.

Each of these apps are free, and can be found in the Google Play Store or in the App Store.
